CyberScout's Goodman Proposes Adopting a Project Management Approach
A New Way to Handle Cyber Claims
Eduard Goodman, CyberScout

Eduard Goodman, global privacy officer of CyberScout, doesn't like the disorganized way most cyber incident claims are handled now. Instead, he would like to see a more project management approach. Here are the benefits he foresees.

To this point, Goodman says, many incidents have been handled with what he calls a "lawyer-heavy" approach. "But [the process] is becoming a lot more nuanced," he says. "There are a lot of situations that require counsel, [but] a lot of them that don't, where it's just an unnecessary spend. More and more, we are looking for things to be handled with very much of a project management approach - bring in all the right players when they need to be brought in."

In an interview about improving the claims process, Goodman talks about:

  • What's wrong with the current process;
  • The merits of taking a project management approach;
  • How CyberScout helps organizations make the transition.

Goodman is an internationally trained attorney and privacy expert with more than a decade of experience in privacy law, fraud and identity management. He is a member of the state bar of Arizona, where he sits on the technology committee and served as the 2015-16 chairman of the bar's internet, e-commerce & technology law practice section. He is a Certified Information Privacy Professional with designations for the U.S., Canada and European Union.
