Editor's Note: Focus on Business Continuity/Disaster Recovery

Pandemic Preparation is Just One Piece of the Puzzle Pandemic preparation gets the lion's share of the headlines when it comes to Business Continuity/Disaster Recovery these days. And that's fine. The topic deserves the attention. Needs it.

After all, is a major regulatory focus, and our own State of Information Security survey shows that pandemic is the one type of disaster that financial institutions are least prepared to face.

But that's not to say that pandemic preparation is the only topic of BC/DR conversation.

Quite the contrary, in fact, as we tackle BC/DR as our main editorial calendar item in this month of March. Starting immediately, you'll see on our site such pieces as:

And upcoming, you can also look forward to articles and interviews on such subtopics as:

  • A case study of an institution that survived Hurricane Rita;
  • Update on BCP regulatory guidance;
  • Data back-up, remote access & more.

The "more" subtopic is my secret code for "What else would you like to learn about?"

Clearly, BC/DR is a huge topic, and I know there's a need for additional information on such areas as what to include in a BC/DR report; how to update and communicate these plans to employees, partners and customers - how to incorporate employees, partners and customers, for that matter.

But I'd really like to hear is: What do you want to see us tackle? Where's your BC/DR gap, and how can we create some content to fill it?

Suggestions, please. Send your ideas, insights and feedback straight to me at tfield@bankinfosecurity.com

As always, I look forward to hearing from you. Let me know how we can serve you better.
