Learn from ING how one of the largest financial services corporations implemented ReputationDV (RepDV) from HP TippingPoint to proactively secure their network without compromising performance. RepDV, a
security intelligence tool, monitors inbound and outbound communications to identify and block undesirable hosts. Updated every two hours, this robust security intelligence feed searches through hundreds of thousands of known malicious IPv4, IPv6, and DNS names and assigns a threat score of 1 to 100. Rated based on the analysis of the source, category, or threat, this score helps block traffic that poses a potential security risk. ING has had amazing success with HP
TippingPoint RepDV:
ING will cover how deploying HP TippingPoint security intelligence helped simplify their network security strategy while increasing reliability and effectiveness.
Background
ING deployed the HP TippingPoint next-generation IPS with ReputationDV (RepDV) to ensure the network stayed secure without compromising performance. HP TippingPoint RepDV is a subscription service that enables organizations to monitor and block inbound and outbound communications from known malicious and undesirable hosts. RepDV is a robust security intelligence feed powered by advanced analytics and a global reputation database of IPv4, IPv6, and Domain Name System (DNS) names. The RepDV database includes hundreds of thousands of known malicious or undesirable hosts collected from HP TippingPoint
ThreatLinQ global intelligence network, DVLabs malware repository and honeypot network, third-party commercial sources, and open source black lists. A threat score of 1 to 100 is assigned to each entry based on DVLabs analysis of the activity, source, category, and threat. Customers can tune RepDV policies based on reputation score, category, or geolocation to meet custom security requirements. RepDV is updated multiple times a day to stay ahead of emerging threats and reduce customers' security risk.
The HP TippingPoint NX Platform Next Generation Intrusion Prevention System (NGIPS) achieves a new level of in-line, real-time protection, providing proactive network security ideal for data center, core, and
perimeter deployments for today's and tomorrow's real-world network traffic and data centers. HP is transforming the enterprise security landscape with the latest network and application security that
