Smith has more than 35 years of experience in audit and security roles on behalf of UK central government departments, leading operational activity and advising governments across Europe and the pacific on computerized procedures, controls and forensic investigations. In 2006, he became head of information security activity for a large central government department, where he was a key contributor to cabinet office security policy and provided communications security guidance for HMG. Most recently, Smith has worked with the Financial Services Information Sharing and Analysis Centre (FS-ISAC) as director of its member services program for UK and Ireland. He is currently focusing on the extensive CAPS cyberattack exercise program developed by FS-ISAC. In addition, he is a Central UK board member of ISACA and contributor to ISACA's international governance and regulatory advocacy committee.
